Complete Betrayal as RBS mobile banking schedule released
Mid-Scotland and Fife MSPs, Murdo Fraser and Liz Smith, have slammed RBS following news of a stripped back mobile banking schedule for Pitlochry, Aberfeldy and Comrie.
The new timetable for the Perth Mobile Branch route was disclosed in a letter to both MSPs. From May, customers in Pitlochry will get two 1 hour visits a week with those in Aberfeldy receiving just one at 1 hour and 45 mins and Comrie customers getting just 45 minutes to access services.
In the letter, RBS confirmed that the schedule will remain under constant monthly review with the possibility of schedules being reduced or increased.
Commenting Murdo Fraser MSP said;
“This is another slap in the face for customers across Highland Perthshire. The fact that customers in Aberfeldy will only get one visit per week stretched out over mid-afternoon, not even during a traditional lunch break, will make it difficult for customers to get out and use services.
“Customers have been loyal to RBS and deserve something more than what has been offered so far.
“Although officials have said that the schedule will remain under review I don’t think any customer is realistically expecting the bank to offer more slots considering their approach to date, which has been very disappointing.”
Commenting Liz Smith MSP said;
“For customers in Comrie, this level of service is a complete betrayal and 45 minutes once a week is barely enough time to conduct the most basic of banking services.
“When branch closures were first announced customers were assured that mobile banking would be able to meet demand and this schedule clearly does not meet the challenge.
“Customers across Perth and Kinross have every right to feel let down by this schedule and it is high time RBS took a different, service-orientated, approach to their customers.”
