Murdo Fraser, Scottish Conservative MSP for the Mid Scotland and Fife region, has submitted a motion at the Scottish Parliament congratulating Beautiful Perth on being put forward for the Champions of Champions category at this year’s Britain in Bloom competition.
Judges from the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) nominated the charitable organisation to compete for the coveted title of Britain in Bloom Champion of Champions.
Beautiful Perth aim to keep Perth city tidy and are well-known for creating picturesque gardens and floral displays in the city.
Mr Fraser, who has submitted a motion on the success of Beautiful Perth at the Scottish Parliament, said: “I’d like to congratulate Beautiful Perth on being nominated in the Champion of Champions category at this year’s Britain in Bloom competition. The volunteers in the group do a wonderful job and it is good to hear they are one of five communities across the UK to have been put forward for this prestigious title.
“I wish them every success in Britain in Bloom.”
The text of Mr Fraser’s motion submitted at the Scottish Parliament says: “That the Parliament congratulates Beautiful Perth on being nominated by judges to compete in the Champion of Champions category at this years’ Britain in Bloom competition; notes that Beautiful Perth is a charitable organisation, whose volunteers aim to keep Perth tidy, and create lovely gardens and floral displays in the city; further notes that the Fair City is only of one of five communities across the UK to have been put forward by the RHS to compete for the coveted title of Britain in Bloom Champion of Champions 2019; and wishes Beautiful Perth success in the competition.”
