Murdo Fraser expresses concerns following MacDonald Hotels announcing job losses
Scottish Conservative politician Murdo Fraser MSP has raised concerns on the announcement by MacDonald Hotels that they will be making staff redundant.
The hotel chain has blamed the impact of Covid-19 for making their decision, which will mean staff employed at their hotel in Kinloch Rannoch will lose their jobs.
Commenting, Mr Fraser said: “This is obviously a big blow to Kinloch Rannoch and Highland Perthshire, and a real worry for the staff concerned. Although we had the announcement on Wednesday about the tourism sector being told to prepare to provisionally re-open on July 15, the situation with MacDonald Hotels is symptomatic of many businesses across Scotland – they are in a perilous situation due to the lockdown.”
